Silver and Mandarins
"Silver Creamer with Mandarins" oil on hardboard, 6"x12" (update - sold)
Working with the warm palette I enjoy. I like the country elegance of combining silver with fruit. Painting with broad loose strokes and thin paint in both the foreground and background, adds more of a rustic informal feel.

Painting at the Beach
Last week I joined fellow artists for a beautiful day plein air painting. It had been a long long time since I ventured outside to paint. I was terribly rusty, but enjoyed every moment! I'll post my two small studies as soon as I photograph them. In the mean time, here are some nice shots to share.

Last week of Festival of the Arts, Laguna Beach
I have been taking pictures of artist friends, their wonderful displays of art, events being held on the Festival grounds, and much more throughout these past two months. The last day is fast approaching. Though many of us probably need to catch up on sleep and start finding time to paint, it will be sad to say good bye to an amazing summer!
